Kevin Gleason made an instant impact during his maiden season in the brand new TCR International Series, as the American racer quickly set himself out as a race winner and a consistent podium threat as one third of Sweden's WestCoast Racing's attack.
Gleason parted company with BimmerWorld Racing in the Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge and joined the Craft-Bamboo Racing fold in the flourishing GT Asia Series, in a bid to further his international career in 2014.
With a career founded on touring cars in the US, Gleason made a seamless transition to GT3-spec machinery, as he and teammate Jon Venter took Craft-Bamboo's Aston Martin V12 Vantage to a brace of top ten finishes in a highly impressive GT Asia baptism.
The American spent his childhood watching his father race in GRAND-AM and American Le Mans Series (ALMS) and straight away became an avid racing fan.
Having originally started out racing motocross in his early years, it was in 2008 that the Business Management graduate began racing in Spec Miatas, earning one win, two pole positions and averaging a top-four finish in his debut season.
He then went on to compete in the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup in 2010, followed by a full season in the Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge in 2011, where he finished fifth in the Drivers’ Championship.
Gleason has gone on to win various races in America, including the 25 Hours of Thunderhill with Rotek Racing and the Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge ST and the STU class in the VIR 13 Hour, but also contested the 2014 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hours alongside Rob Huff and Oliver Gavin.
